Bracelet "Snow Ladies"

Hello out there...
Like most of you...I am "supposed" to be getting ready for Christmas.  Today is my "cleaning" day...but I am so easily distracted...
My sweet little 4-year old was playing with a little stash of bracelets I had been collecting...for who knows what :)
She so sweetly said "Mom, can we make some-thin with these?"
"Like what?" I asked
"How about snowmen?" she replied...
Isn't she clever? asks the proud mama ;)

So "twist my arm"...I dropped my cleaning duties and that's what we did :)

So easy-peasy, we just attached the assorted bracelets with twine and added a few simple "accessories" and there you have it.

Hang them on a knob...

...hang them on your tree.
Whatever...works for me :)

Thanks for stopping by...now I'd better get back to "work"...the clock is ticking!

Fish Bowl Snowman...

Hi all...still having fun with my decorating here :)
I put together this "little" fish bowl snowman yesterday...and my kids are "in love".
My original inspiration came from a photo I saw on Pinterest...which you can see HERE.
And just this morning I saw that my friend Lezlee over at Prior Lives made one too...that you can see HERE :)

They both added cute little Christmas treasures for a snow glabe effect...love it!
I decided to just fill them with snow and then I added a few "accessories" :)

Of course he needs his magic hat...in this case an old enamel lid.

Little red boots and fuzzy mittens :)

My faucet handle "snowflakes" made a re-appearance here :)

The only thing I tucked inside was this vintage silver heart pendant.  He had to have a "warm heart" don't you think???

And did you see his little red vintage shovel sitting back there?

Awww...I'm having too much fun with this.  I actually have a couple more fish bowls so my daughter wants to make a baby one too...why not? :)

(And by the way...I won that big huge poinsettia plant at my hubby's office Christmas party.  Lucky me...hope I can keep it alive through the holidays!)

The "Center" of Christmas...

I have been collecting nativity sets for years now...I like to tuck them in all over my house to help keep the focus on the real meaning of Christmas...

This one is making it's appearance in the dining room centerpiece.

I have been collecting these glass candy jar trees at the thrift stores to fill with shredded sheet music.

And this is a glass hanging vase flipped upside down...add a little greens, looks like a "tree" to me :)

And a glass ornament with shredded music ties it in with the other trees.

I tucked these white chippy faucet handles in here and there because I think they look like snowflakes...wish I had more.

Now back to that real meaning of Christmas...

There were shepherds.

And there were kings.

But most importantly there was a baby...

For to you is born this day in the town of David a Savior, who is Christ, the Messiah, the Lord!
Luke 2:11, Amplified Bible

Continue "fussing" and baking and gifting my friends...but never forget the reason.

Sort of a Wreath?

The other day I showed you my latest wreath creation...

A wreath made from an old bike rim...you can see that post HERE :)

Well since I was busy snipping and stamping...I made a few of these little lovelies too.  Sort of like a wreath, but not.

I just stamped words onto book pages and attached them to the covers of some books I had taken apart for another project.  So glad I saved them!  I love the torn "imperfect" edges...adds "character".

Hope everyone is having fun with the Christmas preparations and still feeling "Merry".  I love this time of year :)

Bike Rim Wreath

Ready for another wreath idea?

You might remember this bike rim with the knob from photos of our booth at the fall Junk Market Under Glass event.  I sold all but one...and now I know why :)

With some old clothes pins, snipped greens and a few stamped book pages it makes the perfect rustic wreath for my family room.

And check out this hook it's hanging from...

I have no idea what it was but I think I found the perfect "re-purpose" as a wreath hook.  Don't you?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

"Fussy" Christmas Mantle

Chipping wityh Charm...Fussy Christmas Mantel 2012...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I admit it...I have a problem...I'm a "fussy" decorator.  I just can't leave well enough alone.  I fuss and fuss until I've wasted 2 days on one area!

Here's how my fireplace looked yesterday...

"Good enough" but...

Then I remembered these little numbered "whatchamacallit's" I got at Haupt Antiek last week.  I decided a garland would be nice...

No hooks?  That's ok...a couple of rusty goodies will do the trick here...

And here.

And then I thought the sock stretcher "thingy" could use a little "Love".

And here's how it looks today.  Too much?  Oh well...it's Christmas!!!  I'll work on "simplifying" my decorating the rest of the year :)

Here's a peek at a few of the other "fussy" details...

Bed spring tree toppers...I "borrowed" this idea from my friend Traci...cute right?

A fish bowl full of styrofoam "snowballs" and a little "joy".

And yet another simple wreath...made from a metal vent cover and a sweet little button ornament I received many years ago from my sister-in-law Heidi.  Very special...

So how about you?  Are you a "fusser" too?

Well, I think I'll move on to my centerpiece now...see you in a couple days ;)
