"Charming" Centerpieces...

I had the honor of coming up with centerpieces for a recent women's event at church and here's what we did...

Do you recognize those rustic flower boxes (upside down) for my pictures for the shop last month?  I bought a few, and I'm so glad I did!

My friend and "room-mate" at Drawers Of Davlee made these cool fall signs.  She whipped them up for me at a moments notice...thanks Joan!  I'm not sure what the wood was originally from but we found a bunch at an occasional sale a while back.  I'm pretty sure they'll be for sale at D of D next month, if the ladies at church don't put "dibs" on all of them first :)

So there they are, all lined up and ready for the ladies.  I've done quite a few centerpieces at church over the last year.  I can't carry a tune and don't expect to be preaching or teaching anytime soon...so I guess maybe I'll start a "Centerpiece Ministry".  That I can do ;)
Use what you've got to bring Him glory, right?!?
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

"Treats" For My Windows...

The windows at my house have been "naked" for a while now. I like the clean look of bamboo shades but have been trying to add a unique junky twist here and there. Let me know what you think...

Our livingroom has lots of windows...my in-laws found a stash of these spindles and scooped them up for me. Simple but interesting, I think.

This distressed white cane has the perfect spot for a little springy bling...

We hung it up using these fun clips...super easy!

You might remember this garden fence treatment from a previous JMS post. I think this was the idea that got me thinking...

This chippy hook rack makes a great treatment in my bathroom and is the perfect display spot for my junky jewels.

One of my favorite Mimi-Toria pieces...now I can enjoy it everyday :)

This old screen was the perfect fit in my guest bedroom. At first that "imperfection" bothered me but now I am "embracing" it ;)

Love these hinges...

So anyway, that's where I've gone so far...I have a couple more "treats" in my mind but haven't been able to find all the right pieces to complete them...so I may have to add "Part 2" post when they finally all come together :)

Hope everyone has a great week.  Things are pretty crazy around here.  I don't get near enough time to peek around and comment on everyone's blogs.  Someday soon...things will slow down, right???  Take care...

Still, Fall-ing for Junk...

I must admit, I love Fall...there is something so inviting about it. I can almost smell the Pumpkin Spice Lattes. And with that comes fall decorating...I can't wait! I have just a few mums to take the place of summer plants that are "no longer with us"...
For inspiration, I took a peek back at a post I did last year on JunkMarket Style. Mind if I share it with you?

A bicycle basket, a few gourds and my house numbers welcomed my guests...

A crusty old lawnmover and a few more gourds...

I apologize for my sad looking mums...I have to admit, they'd been neglected. It got cold fast last here in MN and I kind of forgot about them...just a few days earlier my sweet hubby said "Man those are some "Hardy Mums"...ooops!!!

I got this chippy, rusty stand at a barn sale for cheap and this wooden bucket at the French Flea...a perfect "marriage" in my book. There is a base on this stand buried in the rock. I think it would make a nice wine bucket on my deck as well...nice to have options...

A dead summer plant, a pumpkin and a couple of cool metal pieces and we were good to go!

Well anyway, that's what I did last year...I'll be sure to post pictures when I'm done this year.  I PROMISE to take much better care of my mums this time around...or atleast take pictures earlier ;)
When do you start your fall decorating?  Or are you already done???  Can't wait to see what everbody comes up with...
Take care!

Thank you!!!

A couple of weeks ago...on a whim, I entered my "Dressed Up" condiment spinner in Junkologie's Potluck Linky Party and I was honored to win 2nd place in the contest.  And lucky me...I received a whole box full of Gorilla Glue products.  Whoo-hoo, happy day!
As I was unpacking I thought of a whole other use for my little spinny thing.  In fact, I think this might be the best use yet...this way I'm pretty sure it will get used every single day!  So thanks again Amy for hosting and thanks to Gorilla Glue for the fun prize!
Hope everybody is having a great weekend.  The weather here is beautiful and I found lots of junk goodies yesterday during my Friday "Me Time"...so I'd better get out there to unpack it all!  What fun stuff are you working on this weekend?  Whatever it is...enjoy :)

"In-store" for September @ Drawers of Davlee...

My friend Joan and I share a space at the Drawers of Davlee Occasional Sale in Monticello, MN.  Here's a peek at what we've got going on this month...

My hubby helped me add shelves to the cool old truck...

Joan makes beautiful signs and things...she added the words to the child's prayer "Come Lord Jesus Be Our Guest" to this Lazy Susan.  Cute huh?

These tea-stained scarves make a fun window treatment...and "hint" at what's on its way...

This sewing pattern valance got a lot of attention last month so we decided find it a new home over a fun old mirror this month...

An old tool box makes a great shelf...

Joan found a whole bunch of these old rustic flowers boxes...I think of few of these might just come home with me :)

A little of this and that...

Perfect little spot for a flower...

A fancy little "girly" corner too...of course!

Need a place to store your "Pretties"?

Thanks for stopping by for a look...this is just our little space.  The rest of the house will be filled to the brim too.  The September sale starts this Thursday, September 9th...so if you live locally and want to check it out, please visit their website for hours and directions...you can become a "fan" of Facebook too...
